Barrington Home in Fairfax Station Home Gets Fred’s Best LifeTime Trim Treatment
Northern Virginia Home Improvement Company Fred’s Best Windows, Doors & Siding, is proud to announce the completion of a recent project in the Barrington neighborhood of Fairfax Station, Virginia.
At this home, Fred’s Best applied their proprietary LifeTime Trim process to all exposed wood trim on the building’s exterior.
The permanent trim wrap was applied to all Fascia, Soffit, Rake Boards, around the Bay Window, all window trim, garage door trim, French door trim and box-bay trim. Additionally, all rotten wood found was replaced prior to being wrapped.
A remarkable aspect of this job is that the home’s windows were already capped when the windows had been previously replaced by another company. Unfortunately for the homeowners, the windows were capped inappropriately and in the wrong color which necessitated tearing off their inferior coverage and applying the LifeTime Trim coverage to all windows.
Having previously been covered in white capping material, the windows stood out like a sore thumb against the tan trim and color-scheme of the house. The window trim is now covered with LifeTime Trim that matches the color of their existing trim and is ideal for the color scheme of the house.
Original Aluminum Siding Replaced After Hail Storm Damage
Aluminum Siding Before
Fred’s Best Windows, Doors and Siding, the Northern Virginia Home Improvement Firm, is proud to announce the completion of a recent project in the North Hill neighborhood of Fairfax, Virginia where an older home’s original aluminum siding was replaced with Hardie Board siding (also known as Hardie Plank) after a recent hail storm.
The original Battleship Gray aluminum siding was replaced with a beautiful Woodland Cream color scheme straight from the Hardie factory, which means this siding will never require repainting.
James Hardie Industries is the World’s Leader in Fiber Cement Siding. Their plank siding looks just like wood which means it can be used in historical districts to maintain old world charm or added to new homes to give them a very traditional look. At the same time, Hardie Board is more resistant to flame and storm damage than virtually any other exterior home surface.
After stripping off the old aluminum siding, the craftsmen at Fred’s Best lovingly wrapped the home in the Tyvek Building Weatherization System from DuPont.
Tyvek During
Used by home builders around the world, the Tyvek Building Weatherization System will provide this lovely home with superior protection against water and air infiltration, as well as improved energy efficiency & air quality.
Last but not least, all exposed wood trim areas of the home were covered with Fred’s Best proprietary LifeTime Trim Process which, when combined with the Hardie Board siding, results in a home whose exterior is now virtually maintenance-free.
Best of all, Fred’s Best brought the project in at a final cost which was in alignment with quotes received from other contractors for top-grade vinyl siding rather than the superior Hardie Board.
“We wanted Hardie Plank but didn’t think we could afford it,” said Mrs. K. “When we saw that we could get exactly what we wanted at a price we could afford we were very excited.”

Northern Virginia Home Improvement Company Fred’s Best Windows, Doors & Siding is proud to announce the installation of a new set of beautiful Rocco French Doors at our clients’ home in Fairfax Station, Virginia.

The beautiful and energy efficient French Door set was custom manufactured by our friends at Rocco Doors, specifically for this installation, based upon the homeowners’ specifications and design selections.

Unlike other screen doors, ODL Retractable Screen Doors open and close smoothly every time and, when opened, the screen retracts into a housing for a clear view.
This is one product you have to see to believe because it’s hideaway design makes it very difficult to portray in photographs!
Here’s what one happy ODL client says about her retractable screen door:
“We absolutely LOVE this door! The only caution I have is to be careful not to walk into it! It is virtually invisible. If I didn’t know it was there, I wouldn’t know it was there.”

Proprietary Wood Trim Wrapping Process Eliminates Exterior Maintenance for Homeowners
Fred’s Best Windows, Doors and Siding has just produced a new video on their YouTube channel that explains why exposed wood trim is such a problem for homeowners and shows how Fred’s proprietary LifeTime Trim Process solves that problem permanently.
In their quest to create a completely maintenance-free exterior, many homeowners overlook one of the most important – and certainly one of the most troublesome – features outside their home:
Exposed Wood Trim.
Without a doubt, new energy-efficient windows, doors and siding all mean a big decrease in the amount of painting and repair you’ll have to do after you replace them.
But, if you don’t get your wood trim capped, and capped correctly, you’re likely to be back up on that ladder every couple of years – or paying someone else to get up there and repair the rotted wood and paint over it as it succumbs to the elements.
That’s why the good folks at Fred’s Best Windows, Doors and Siding created their proprietary LifeTime Trim Process. To allow you to forget about exterior maintenance for a lifetime, while still maintaining the architectural integrity of your home’s design.
Unlike other home improvement companies, the craftsmen at Fred’s Best go to extreme lengths to ensure that your covered trim matches the original appearance as close as humanly possible. When they’re finished your home will still have the attractive look of wood trim, but with none of the headaches.
And, as part of the LifeTime Trim application process, they use no caulking whatsoever. Instead they use an industrial-grade adhesive that guarantees your home’s wood surfaces will never again be exposed to the elements.
So there you have it: Fred’s Best LifeTime Trim Process. Beautifying and protecting your home for a lifetime.
